As soon as I saw this figure it caught my attention. Now I have it and I'm quite pleased. I have started it and will post pictures here. Unfortunately I'm not a fast builder or painter and i only hope I can do it justice.
I tried using clamps but they kept slipping so when I went looking for some string I found a spare work boot lace. I made a loop in one end and slipped the other end through it and looped it over the elephant halves. Then pulling tight I wrapped it around to get a good seal. Because the lace was rough it didnt slip at all. I had enough legnth left to wrap it around the head. and let the 5 minute epoxy set for a couple of days. Then filled the small seams with epoxy putty and then acrylic putty. The nice thing about acrylic putty is it can be wiped off with a damp cloth so there is not much sanding. I did have to cut out some skin on the bottom of the neck to make it look like it emerged under the strap. Still work to do but here is where I am so far.
More to come.
