Having just come around from all the celebrating I thought I would add my 10d (oops 10p).
Like all large /Great Empires in history they all outreach themselves and fall apart.
Thankfully / Hopefully the EU's time has come and we in the United Kingdom are the first brick to
come out of a crumbling wall........................ I still have a hangover so please dont shout.

Probably EU had it`s time and outreached itself - we will see. The Great Britain of the past definitely went through that process before and if a wall starts to crumble not the strongest brick comes out first.
A lot of standards in respect to infrastructure, health care etc. are very outdated in the UK which is surely worth more than one visit due to colorful history, beautiful landscapes and many other things - maybe except food:D.
I really hope that it will work out for the ordinary people of the UK because they voted for leaving the EU and it was their right to make that choice due to a political strategy that IMHO deservedly backfired on politicians that were playing ball with their nation and the EU partners.
While EU is far from being perfect it is still a joint ( and difficult) effort to make things work for all of us. Let`s hope that a joint effort of neighbours within Europe will not stop - regardless if it is within a structure like EU or outside of it.
Cheers to all - back to the hobby!

I've just read/heard the news.

Well guess what............. ? It would appear that already 1.000.0000 UK'ers signed a petition/request for a new referendum. Parliament cannot ignore such a request if there are 100.000 signatures so it seems.

Apparently only 72% of Brit's voted in the Doomsday Referendum .................. eehhhhhh I mean Brexit referendum:D. Among them as we know a dispropotionally large number of people already living in old people's homes or about to reside there. Well of course they would know what's best for the young ones don't they?

And to furhter heighten the festive atmoshere: another quotum seems to have been met for a yet another referendum aimed at making London an independend EU member.

But the icing on the cake (wel for me at least) was the announcement that finally the Scots are preparing to vote for their independence. Wallace and Robert the Bruce have been seen tapdancing in a graveyard.

Sgt. Wilson to Captain Mainwaring: "do you think it is wise Sir to hold a referendum on leaving the EU"?

I take offence at your comment regarding your claim about a large number of old people effecting the vote.We allowed 16 and 17 years old to vote, but what proportion i don't really know .Maybe you could enlighten us all,as you seem to have a far superior insight to our referendum.

Us old folk would know more than any of the young ones,as we've lived outside the E.U. and in it.We can compare, something the younger generation can't even contemplate.I can assure you that daily life will go on as usual.Experience tells me that.I've watched the changes in todays youth ,and it's not all good ,thats for sure.Youth is wasted on the young:D.
What pisses Brits off is someone who lives outside the U.K. giving us a blow by blow account of what's going to happen to us.Reading biased newspapers and their news, which has to be true LOL
Look back at the history of Britain and you'll see we have the character to prosper under any conditions.
The SNP might be preparing for another referendum, not the Scots,as i was one of the 2 million that said no in the last one,but i don't think we will be having another one as the E.U. will have split within 2 years

I take offence ................. the E.U. will have split within 2 years

Amen! :D But there's no need to be offended Brian.

The percentages of different age groups participating in yesterday's vote were/are shown in every news bulletin/site all across the continent. It does not require any superior qualities on my part to read that.

Look here for example: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...e-results-compare-to-the-uks-educated-old-an/

Other then that: I am 55 years old myself. However I would not go as far as to assume that advanced age necessarily attributes an individual with superior intellectual capabilities and/or some advanced forms of knowledge/wisdom in comparison with younger people. Some people were born stupid and when they leave for the Elysian Fields at the ripe age of 93 they still are.

As for experience: well a horse may have been standing in a stable for years on end and therefore have a lot of experience in standing in a stable for years on end. But that hardly qualifies him or her to become Master of the Stables doesn't it? Takes a bit more I should think.

Personally I am convinced there are younger people who are smarter and much more knowlegable then I will ever be. :p I have no problem with that certainty.

As for your prediction: we'll see about that. Time will tell won't it?

Cheers,

Paul

Naaah.
He sits there on his personal toad throne, croaking "readit, readit" whilst he pays others 30 pieces of silver,
(left over from his $200m parental kick start to his self-made grossly inflated fortune), to read the big words like tolerance and statesmanship and and probably thinks Snow White is so obviously of Mexican origins that she killed Bambi.

I am not a fan of his either after his having raped Aberdeen.
