I received a nice package from Stuart at Stormtrooper Miniatures this morning containing 2 busts that I ordered 2 days ago.
The first one I shall be attempting is the lovely looking Royal Horse Guards Officer circa 1830, just a two piece bust, head with helmet attached and the bust body. Had a quick look and my word there is a lot of detail so looking forward to doing that, so today I shall be cleaning up ( just some small plug bumps to clear away) and then a good wash in hot water and washing up liquid. When dry a blow over with black primer I think for this one.

Right let's get started.

Hi Geoff I Have this first on my list when I have finished whats on the bench at the moment.

Look forward to plenty of info and tips so I can crib.

I have been looking at him for ages and managed to get him at last, so much detail on him to do. I've managed to clean him up and washed him so waiting for him to dry, I have also pinned and glued his head on with CA and filled the very slight rear gap under the collar with PVA so that has to dry before I can prime, so tomorrow that will be.

Hi Geoff

Glad you went for this one first ..it's a great sculpt

Looking forward how you do the metallics .....and don't forget that Waterloo medal

Following and hoping to have some of your mojo rub off on me !

Nap

This is a fab bust with lots of detail as you say. I have him in my GGA but have not tried to complete him because I am not sure how best to attack all the metal. I will be interested to see how you do all the metal work especially all the various golds.

Thanks Guys, I'm wondering whether to use metallics or not, might have to have a practice first.

I have a copy Waterloo medal Nap so can get it right and the correct ribbon colour.
