Well done, I like the face, the armour ( painted according to historical paintings of time). One of my friends just finished a Venetian ambassador, same manner regarding the armour (a Friuli figurine, if I well remember, hope to post it soon to planetfigure).
Cheers,
Nicolae

Very nice work I agree with Marc he looks a bit lost on that base I'd go for a smaller one but the paint work is very good
Steve

Yes, same people said me that the base is to big for the figurine, but I can't change it, I fixed the figurine with two pins from the feet to the base it's difficult to remove.
For Nicolaos, I Know the piece you are tolking, is an old piece of Friulmodellismo, it is ispirede by the statue of Gerolamo Cappello, that is in Palmanova square, Udine. But isn't an ambasador is the "Provveditore Generale della Patria del Friuli" the governator of the city of Palmanova from 1602 to 1603, Palmanova was the most important fortress in the north est of Venetian Republic.
If you go on the web site of Palmanova you can find more info.

Hi Cristian, thank you so much. Yes, you're right, is Gerolamo (I've find Girolamo) Capello, but, historically speaking, he was also ambassador in Ottoman Empire at the end of 16th Century (1597). In the Venetian archives you can find his diplomatic rapports, some of them regarding the political situation of Romanian Principate of Wallachia.

It's possibile that Girolamo/Gerolamo whose also an venetian ambasador, in the Repubblica of Venice the power was reserved to the noble men, called nobil huomini, few person that came from same power family.
This peoples was elected to the public office for a short period, like 1 year, after they was elected to another pubblic office.
In this period the cappello family was very strong in Venice, the wife of the second great duke of tuscany was bianca cappello.

To Nicolaos, good job, a lot of time ago I done the same piece, si part of a set of six figurines, 2 pikemen, 2 muskateers, a guard with heldbard and the "provveditore". To Know the rank you shuold watch the buttons on the coat, three provveditore, morosini have fuor buttons because he was admiral of the gulf, the commander in chief of the venetian fleet, he was elected for fuor time in this rank. Also the military rank was elective.
