I'll be working on this bust alongside the Aquila, so I can keep my hand on the painting side.
No issues with assembly on this one, all I need to do is secure it to a wooden base.

An interesting bust, the burn scarred skin will be an interesting challenge. This is from yet another TV series I never bothered to watch, read the books though.

Cheers Simon

Not a series I followed on TV or by book so I have no idea on this character. As Simon commented the burn scars will be a challenge, they are likely the focal point of the bust. I will be interested in seeing how you approach them.

hi Simon, I read the books too, although he still hasn't finished them, as he concentrated on the tv series.
The tv series was good, gory here and there, but great to watch.

hi Rob. I have a few ideas, as this is a 1/5th scale, I'll be using acrylics and oils.

Well, here's a first for me, working on 2 busts at once..... I must be mad. :woot:
I've selected a base and mounted the bust on brass rod.
There was a bit of filling required underneath, as these busts are hollow.
Once that's set, I'll clean it up and prime it ready for painting.

Sorry the photo is a bit lop sided.... I'll do better next time. promise. :)

Glutton for punishment doing two at once, but twice the enjoyment. Thought you might have had a charred bit on the base for the hound!

Cheers Simon

Just a little more progress, the eyes have been painted in, and I've blocked out other areas.
Before starting on the flesh tones, I wanted to work on the section where the burnt skin/scars are.
I began by adding thinned Vallejo Burnt Red, and following a tip from my good friend Snik, I've added some washes
from the Army painter range. First of all, the red tone followed by mid brown.
The first highlight were added after they had dried.

Interesting start to the colouring. With the red tone you have a "fresher" looking burn than the faded, more "scabby" look of the screen image.
So difficult. Not only to make the burn scars look right, but also to make the face recognisable to the character.
