The most disappointing thing you have bought.

I think inconsistency is only forgiveable up to a point.
The same manufacturer can produce figs with casting/sculpting quality ranging from bad to superb - with no change in price.

Here's a thing. And it may get me shouted at...

Too many WW2, too many third reich, too many SS (I have a problem with those b@$+@&ds).
Too many manufacturers sticking to formulaic subjects that tend to look homogeneous.
Not enough originality. JMD were a ray of sunlight through the trees.

There: rant over.

I don't like the subjects you refer to either but I don't understand why you had to hijack this thread to say so.
Totally irrelevant to the topic.

Not related to the thread topic in anyway

My thoughts on the question asked .......can't say I have been wholly dissapointed by a purchase as such and if I have had any issues ie missing parts/ casting these have been sorted out quickly

There are pieces I thought would be more impressive when I saw the actual resin but were a little dissapointing

I too believe there is too much fascination with an abominable regime which inflicted so much misery, but like Badger this is not the thread to express such a view. We need to keep threads to the topic rather than branching off into irrelevant discussion.

My first figure on returning to the hobby, Verlindens, mounted Lee kit, I might as well have carved it out of a block of filler. Added to that the incredibly unhelpful goons at Historex it's a miracle I stayed with the hobby after that. It did ensure Historex will never get a penny off me though.

My most disappointing purchase was an artillery piece WWI German Krupp 250mm mortar which looked good. Advertised as 1/32. The actual item was closer to 1/48. So I could not do a planned diorama.

I also found Verlinden stuff pretty uninspiring, didn't buy many. A mounted Apache which I completed then binned, a Samurai bust which I tried to enliven with a sashimno on his back, but which still looked wooden. The two Napoleonic busts I bought weren't too bad though.

Sorry guys. Aside from the ill-advised language, it was a point about manufacturers repeating what other people produce and choice being limited as a result. Along with the dubious ethics of nazi subjects.
I'll bow out.

A Landsknecht 54mm by Rose Miniature in the 70ies
painted it , not pleased by the result, gave it to a friend who repainted it and not pleased either, than another friend, then another, then back, repainted it again, and again...
throwed it against a wall ...
( it's the only one from Rose that I could never paint correctly; but perfect fitting, no moulds lines, not complaing, it was just ....cursed ....)

I don't think the language was the problem, just that your reply would be better suited to a different thread. For example, if there are subjects you'd rather see, there is a thread running on here somewhere asking for suggestions.
