I would think the duller finish would work better anyway mate,The scale armour i found to be the easiest part of this bust.I undercoated mine with Dark Star bronze,and then with gold printers ink i used a large flat brush and dabbed it on the raised surfaces with the flat body of the brush,not the tip of the brush.Black oil paint mixed with Liquin,was washed over the whole lot.I've noticed that it's dulled down a bit ,but it's finished and i aint touching it.
