Since I had some time to do an update, here we go!

First up is a pin vise. This little piece I got off Amazon for $14 with all of the drills & microdrills. Well worth it since I had the task of the next post.

I was experimenting with a design for a cork holder for priming. This was a simple design concept I had in mind that plugged a cork into a vertical holder.

The next holder I designed was a 10-up holder that I will post about soon. The concept is its for holding corks while in a break of pause in work became I tend to knock them over.

I'll post tomorrow a full photo set of how the figure assembly turned out and the molding of the figures is wonderful but how the assembly fit per the pose is...well that was a little more then I expected. This is something I want to highlight because the molding was so good of the figures that when it came to the assembly, the poses did not line up with the molding..

Just happy a bought a new package of epoxy sculpt because the gaps after the assembly will make your eyes pop out. So in short, I will have to do a bit a sculpting to get the figures ready for primer.

Also an update on the sub..a lot of the areas for the railings do not line up for the mold and this is causing a lot of patching and sculpting on the rails also plenty of patching.

So my over all opinion of the build for the sub is I would not attempt this kit if your not into scratch building to fix the manufacture issues with what I think is common resin kit issues.

Way beyond my limited modeling skills but it's great to see a master modeler at work.

Thank you! For me, this is more of an artistic concept that is melted with a project that I get to build that for me, the longer it goes, the more value I get out of it. I think it's more of a scratch building thing.

Just caught up, not seen any alerts for this in a while. The technology is way beyond me, as is my 3D printer, still not used since last christmas. The figures look good and from what you say is going into this it's more a self contained display than just a diorama. Really good stuff

So in building this concept, I actually brain stormed another bust concept, I've never seen that once I finish this will start. I've also got all of the figures & busts for it since everything was on sale for black friday.

Here is the start of the Sunday updates. This was the holder designed for holding the figure items while in paint. I really like just holding corks when painting. I do need to design/print a hand rest though.

This resin model has a lot of issues..and much more them I expected but is what it is.

The railing had short shots do the point where I needed to cut out entire sections and scratch build in new railing. The photo showing the inside of the conning tower has the stepping platform for where the captain stands on is missing/was broken off and not included when I opened the box.

This photo is a good example of things just not lining up because of the molding process and I will need to sculpt in the corner to get it to match.

And there we have it, all of the up close photos of the figure builds before any of the patching happens. I wanted to get a full photo set of all the gaps before any filling. The detail on the figures per say as molded is great but after assembly, some of the alignment is hit or miss.

The figure I wanted to point out is the one with the Sexton... was a disappointment for sure. The hands are not molded into place for any kind of line up. This is going to cause me to do a bunch of sculpting to fix this alignment issue. Its not like the wrist can't move as he's shown using the instrument but the joint from the connection from the hand to the arm does not line up. To me, this is not cool selling a figure with this kind of line up. I also ordered an extra figure after seeing this plus ordered the figure bust to check how the alignment fits on the figure bust to aid in the sculpting of the figure. Another item I wanted to point out, I was missing a officer cap with one of the figures. This is the second piece that was missing.

I will say, the detail on the figures makes it worth it though but would give advise to Scale75 that they need to review some of my photos of the alignment issues & gaps.

Wow a lot of work, to be fair some of the gaps are pretty standard for resin figures but the sextant figure is truly awful. Also missing bits isn't good on their quality control, though there are a lot of bits, still if they produce a complex kit they should live up to it. I see what you mean though about the general detail, issues aside they are lovely figures. Good luck sorting out their deficiencies and looking forward to seeing them.painted.
