Hello again...

This is another work we are developing... Another work inside of our new concept... Again Im with a lot of doubts... There are any chance to share with me what is the flag of the polish hussards in the 2nd siege of Vienna? I will introduce this in a few days too...

Thank you so much.
With best regards

Sorry I can’t help with the flag Hugo but hoping that this is a sign that a winged Hussar or similar period Turkish cavalryman might be in the offing from yourselves. I’ve got my fingers crossed.

I’m no expert but it seems every illustration I’ve seen has the banner red and white with the Polish eagle or cross similar to the Templar cross. Anyway I’m very excited to see your new project.

Well you could just leave the flag blank and let us modellers paint the Polish Arms directly onto it but as usual with RP Models you are probably working on some magnificent, exquisitely detailed figure that will blow our mind away.I am a great fan of the period and of both Polish and Ottoman armies so I am definitely waiting to see what you have.I just hope that an Ottoman cavalryman is incorporated.Winged Hussars have been released in the past but Ottoman cavalry of the period is totally neglected. To my knowledge, the only company that produces a figure that can be called an Ottoman mounted archer of this period is Altores. So fingers crossed now....

Ari good morning!
The figure that I am aware of and it is in my possesion , it is the 120mm Ottoman mounted standard bearer made by Kirin ans sculpted by Mike Good .
A legendary figure as it was awarded a prize for the best model figure of the year when it was released.
I tried to find the opponent, Polish Winged Hussar, which actually was produced by Alpha Image also in 1/16 but the two figures surpisinlgy do not match in scale......

Good morning Phokionas.Thank you for the heads up.Of course I know about the Kirin model which is nothing short of legendary these days.Occasionaly it crops up on ebay and it fetches prices well in excess of 500 euros. As for the hussar, the Polish company M-Models (saddly out of business) used to produce a winged hussar in 120mm.This figure is also rare but it is easier to locate and a lot more rational in terms of prices. When you do get around painting your beautiful Sipahi, please send me some pics.

Oda.

PS: Correction,my memory failed me ,M-Models' hussar was in 90mm.

Watched a film on Amazon recently, Italian production I think, called Day of the Siege which deals with the Siege of Vienna and ends with a charge of the Winged Hussars led by Sobiesk. Might be worth a look.

Here's a painting by Mirosław Szeib, titled "Charge of Hussars, Battle of Vienna, 1683".

Of course, it would be better to obtain an informed opinion from Polish historians or museums.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hello Mr. Kevin

Its difficult to have a good reference. I was looking a flag where i can see the details very well. We will rebelop a flag with all the details and im tbinking to have a 2sd option with nothing, for people can paint what they want. Its a tremendous project but just the blocking is unbalivable... You can see the arabian horses in the turkish cavalry and the polish hussars horses...

I hope you like what you will enjoy the blocking.

Thank you Sir.
