No, smaller caliber is better, in this case. Too large a round will tend to disintegrate this target. It's like shooting a squirrel--you don't aim at the varmint itself. You look for one that's on a tree branch, and make a noise. The squirrel will freeze and flatten itself on the branch. You then aim at the branch. The concussion will stun the tree rat and drop it to the ground, where you can pick it up at your leisure and hack its head off with a hatchet or a knife. That's an old black powder tip. Takes a mess o' squirrels to make a stew, though, not that much meat on 'em.

Prost!

This thread really has gone off topic!

I would urge people to try out the newer version of synthetic brushes though, and not only to save the Siberian weasels, but because they are nicer than I thought they would be. Maybe some of you will like them as well.
I used to buy W&N Series 7s, but have changed to DaVinci in the last years. Their natural hair brushes are very nice, especially the Series 1505 and Series 10. And lately, I have experimented a bit with the Nova 5575 and Cosmotop Spin synthetics, and I'm quite satisfied with their performance. Bought some mixed synthetic and natural hair as well, called Cosmotop B, but didn't like them at all. Might be a good alternative for large brushes though, since they are quite a lot cheaper than natural hair brushes.
I havn't tried Escoda or Raphael brushes in a long time, but I suppose they are good as well. Some day I probably will give them a shot as well.

And no, I don't think Single action revolvers are good for hunting weasels.:)

I believe Ms Oakley would have preferred a 22 rifle any day of the week.
Smart girl. Probably she would have used synthetic brushes as well.... ;)

Denstore I believe that the brush tables at Euro will be very busy this year. Lots of punters trying to find a new type of brush for them to use.
Nothing like getting a few brushes together to try them out. Thats a hint for brush selling people.

Hi folks!

The new Escoda Versàtil arrived today but still on package. I will practice this weekend and after I will write my thoughts for the interested members in a new topic.
Cheers

There are long barreled 22 calibre Single action revolvers as well.

Cheers

Yes, but why? :)
I like the SAA. In my opinion it's one of the true classics of all time. Together with the Luger (another favourite), it is one of the few guns most people will recognise immediately. About 25 years ago, I was offered a first generation SAA, but declined because I needed the money for something boring. I've regretted it ever since....
But when hunting for squirrels or weasels, I would probably pick another weapon.
