A short while ago I lost my trusty Jack Russell Terrier companion of 17 years....she was the best dog ever. So while at the farmer's market there just happened to be a farmer who raises them and had pups. My dear wife talked me into getting a new pup, damn it. They are a ton of work and do not just lie contentedly at your feet like an old dog does! Lol. Meet CocoChanel. Home from the farm. :) Jack Russel Terrorists is mor like it!

I know how you feel, we acquired Izzy the wonder dog just over 4 months ago and all our spare time has been taken up training her - just got to the point now where shes settled and happy and I can pick up the sculpting once again. You've got yourself a lovely little character there, enjoy your time together.

Yeah thats a looker. Perhaps it could be a little bit embarissing calling her in with that name?

I do prefer cats myself, but the loss of a good friend its the same whether its a cat or dog. We had to put one of our cats to sleep here in february and in a few weeks we will take home a 12 week old kitten. And the other cat will have something to do keeping an eye on the kitten and raising him.

I cant imagen not having a pet.

Cheers

The old girl and the youngster both look gorgeous, I agree with Roger, a house isn't a home without a dog. At the moment we have two Yorkies, the old boy (14) shambles along at his own pace, and the little girl (3) trots along with a neat tick tock motion. They've all got their own personalities and they all know how to wrap you round their little finger :). And you never forget any of them :):).
Best wishes, Gary.

She's a cute pup! Good luck with her.
I know how hard it is to have a pet die. Our golden retriever Bilbo has been gone almost 5 years and our little mutt Nestea has been gone about 3 years. There are some days I swear I can still hear them in the house.

Dogs are better than people,..I've been through my share of heartbreak with loosing them. And I aways hear from people that say.... I will never get another dog because I can't stand the pain of loosing another. But you have to look at all the joy and fun they have given you for the years you've had them. And to me you can only be thankful.I'm sure your new companion will make you happy. Not that you will forget your other past buddys; It will only make you remember them more............You have a new friend and companion..treat em right and they will always be by your side. We now welcome in your new partner...................Wayne

Thanks fellows, she is just a joy to have around, unless you are a squirrel, mole or vole....she has one kill already. Vole. I could not believe it. Janne, good luck with the new kitten! No sleep for you! Wayne, you are correct she is my new pal and goes everywhere with me already, I wish I could cook up an excuse to classify her as a "service dog" and take her to work in the control room. :) This is a fun thread, thanks guys.

Good reasons for a diversion to the hobby Steve!
