Send me an email Rocky and I'll email you a catalog for Thomas Art Bases as well as The Hussar Bases.

Another source I have used is at the shows there is always someone who sells bases if not the above guys.

I will be selling bases at a special show rate this weekend at the MFCA Show in Delaware. Buy two get one free. All high quality hardwood. Large variety. All shapes and sizes. Rich D.

Guy, I'd be interested in those addresses as well. If you could be so kind as to email me the info for the two base companies.

Thanks!

John

Re: Wooden Bases

Well... call me cheap, but I get a lot of bases at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. They're unfinished and range from $1.00 to $3.00(ish) each. There are a number of sizes ranging from 1" - 3". They are well suited to the 54mm medieval foot figures I usually paint. They also have wheels, thread spools, napkin rings, and other shapes. As far as rectangular bases go, look at small boxes with removable or hinged lids. I've seen round, square, rectangualr, oval, and multi-sided boxes. These are cheap as well and with the lid removed, you get two bases for the price of one.

I give them a quick sanding followed by a wipe on stain. You can go back and use a brush to artificially create an enhanced grain effect if you want. A final satin/gloss clear coat is an option.

Cheers,

Glen

Bases

Do you have a catalog, as I won't be at MFCA?

Hi. I don't have a cataloque but I have attached a small sampling in the photo. If you email me at [email protected] (use the word "bases" in the subject line) and give me an idea of the sizes that you are interested in, I can email you additional photos of what you may be looking for. Thanks,
Rich D
