I've been working on a conversion of an old Verlinden kit for the past couple of weeks in-between other projects. I rescuplted the face and removed the silly moustache, sculpted a new right hand and added a trench club, a 98AZ Carbine and sling, new gas mask, grenade, Helmet and chin strap, and gas mask can using Jon Smith parts. As always, painted with acrylics. Time to finish up painting the trousers and start on the base and groundwork!

Very good job Dave. You gave me ideas on what to do with all these ww1 verlinden figures that I have in my ( huge) stock.
Just curious, what colors (mixing) did you use for tunic and trousers?
Once again....bravo!

Great idea and conversion. The colour for the trousers looks blue on my monitor. I don´t know that colour for a german trouser at that time. But I always be astonished when I see old photos and must notice what was possible

Awesome work, Dave!
Very dynamic posture. Love what you did with those conversions.
So, you found a suitable base for him. Custom made?
Looking forward to see this guy taking his place on the base!
Cheers my friend!

Thank you Guys! Fokionas - The base color mix for the 1915 transitional tunic is Vallejo Field Grey 830 mixed with Vallejo Flat Flesh 955. Mid shadows with the Field Grey and adding Andrea Flat Black XNAC02 for the darker areas. Highlights are being created by adding more Flesh tp the base mix and also adding Vallejo Green Grey 886 in small amounts and "dabbing" it on. The trousers are still being worked on with a mix of Vallejo London Grey, Andrea Flat Black and Flesh. Ulrich - the trousers are a dark grey and getting darker in layers! Tiberius, I am still deciding on the groundwork! Thanks again and back to the bench... :)
