Here's a pic of the work I have done so far on the Jon Smith tank crewman 1918.
Complete with oil stained trousers :) I don't know if I dare make them more "oil stained" in case I over do them and mess it up. Feel free to comment, plenty of time to make any corrections. please bear in mind photography isn't a strong point of mine

That looks darned good Roger. I made mine holding the helmet in his hands, and always wanted to put him on a base looking down at the grave of a friend - it's the look on his face that suggested it - just never seemed to get around to it.
The trousers do look oilstained and mucky, just as you intended..

Roger, Well done. You sure seem to like that line of figures. What I like about them is a lot of them seem to be based on photos, so they have that air of realism about them.

Sometimes it's best to know when to call a figure done. If you feel enough has been done, call it finished. I know all to the well the feeling doing too much to a figure.~Gary

Thanks Gary.
The first time I tried staining the trousers it was way over the top. I can't have been in the right frame of mind for the task in hand ;) . I think I've got it about right this time but a definate lesson was learnt about knowing when to stop.
I love this range of figures, having said that I have got my eye on a couple of figures from The Fusilier.

Roger.

Nice figure Roger. I hope we can see more figures from you from Jon Smith.

I have this figure and some others from Jon Smith in my gray army. At the moment I started to paint his french soldiers in 54mm.

I have some kits from The Fusilier. They are good, too. But to much figures and not enough time. Always the same.

I wait to see more from you.

Ulrich

Thank you Ulrich.
My next figure to do is the French infantryman 1918, holding the messtin, from Jon Smith.
My plan is then to do the Fusilier figure of the Belgian infantryman 1914. But like all good plans it is subject to change at very short notice :) Like you say so many figures..........
I'll post more pics of the tank man when it is finished.

Roger.
