Hi Kev,

To answer your question yes , they did have musket slings.
I am waiting to have some other areas taken care of since those slings have Fleur de Lys at each end of the belts and i want to attach these belts all at the same time with the putty work.
Cheers!

Made some progress today,
Added hands for the trooper and ensign.
Since the Household cavalry had jousting poles rather than just plain poles as the regular cavalry i sanded a toothpick that will do the work .
Tomorrow i will start work on the standard itself and pole, for the tassels and cravats i am using the parts from Front rank in 28mm, they fit cery well the 40mm sizes.

Great use of what everybody else uses as a tool, especially the lathe work on these toothpicks. Pistol holders look great, it says a lot about the way some gaming figures are made thar 28mm details work on 40mm figures, but if it works it's good to go, saves a lot of sculpting.

Cheers Simon

Hi Daniel

Nice work on the hands on both with the use of a toothpick really working ......

And you’ve to add fleur de lys to slings ....that’s a detail many wouldn’t do

Looking forward to seeing more

Finished the standard today,
The Flag is from GMB designs, great quality.
As usual, i did some enhancement by brushing it like a wash of Glorious gold and yellow ink ( both vallejo) over the Sun ( emblem created by Roi Soleil -Louis XIV) and the leaves and Fleur-de-Lys surrounding the Standard.
The Standards for the Household cavalry were bordered with silk fringe, i 've learn from reading at my source ( Osprey -Louis XV Cavalry Book) that they really did not have a set color on these fringes.
Some wore silver ,others gold or a combination of them.
I have placed the pole base on a little pouch i've made out of lead foil and added a strap , these were almost the same for the muskets or carbines holding the front of them.

Hi Daniel

That’s a beautiful standard , looks good in place as does the pole ( you put a wash over ? )

Great to see a original item as well ....wonder how much these cost when made

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the coments Kev,
I have used scale 75 wood ink on the pole.
I read that these standards were paid by the colonel of the regiment and it represented quite an expense for them.
I will confirm that, but i was quite astonished to find that out in the book.
Cheers!

For some reason i always find myself working extra hours on these flags, even thou they really don't need much.

No maybe they don't need much but you still have to put your own stamp on it, we're alike in that always tempted to tinker around with a figure or accessory. Bog standard will never suffice!

Cheers Simon

Finished the mounted trooper,
Made all the slings/straps and front carbine pouch using lead foil.
Placed the horse onto the ground, clipped the base except a small area around each horse leg, then mixed some putty and then pressed small rocks into the mix.
It will show aa if the horse is standing on a little bump, but i am pretty sure steeets cobblestone streets were not flat or perfectly uniform back then.
Painted some greys and few brown and grenn washes...srill need to add some stone color to blend with the rest.

Starting to bring it together now looks ace, don't know how you fitted the carbine in place but it's good.

Cheers Simon
