I've had this head sitting on my painting area for some time now .Must get round to finishing him although painting faces is my favourite part of a figure so i'll get round to doing the rest hopefully soon.

Fantastic work.
I think the tones of skin are very realistic.
if you don't mind and are so kind .... can you tell me what colors are used for the base, lights and shadows for the skin ?
Congratulations.

Hi Pedro
The oil mix i use is as follows-for the base i use Gold Ochre,Titanium White and Brown Red by Shinhan ( i used to use Rowney's Georgian Madder Brown but they stopped making it) I add a touch of Raw Umber to kill off the starkness of the mix.I add Tit White for the highlights and use W&N's Brown madder for the shading.I apply the oils over a grey and white primer and once i've established a reasonable result i allow it to dry completely.
I add more highlights and shading with the same colours wet on dry.
