Did I hear right on the news this evening, that Southern are planning strikes?
That's something we could do without.

Malc

Folkestone is serviced by South Eastern Trains so wont be effected by Southern, unless you are travelling from Sussex or Surrey. They dont tend to strike at the weekends any way.

Try the Salisbury, then you have something to compalin about.

I will give it a try calling them, Malc, but is it possible to ram the toll station with an Opel Corsa?

Cheers
Janne Nilsson

Janne,
There are no Toll Booths at the Dartford Crossing any more, just Number Plate Recognition Camera, so nothing for you to ram !!
You have to pay on line, like the London Congestion Charge, just make sure you use the .GOV website as there a few dodge website around for it too.

Actually, It could be paid in advance over the phone. So it has been dealt with. Thanks for the input fellows.
See you in Folkestone, or Maldon 12/9, Bamburgh 13/9, Lindisfarne 13/9, York 14/9, Leeds 15/9, Leicester 15/9, Bournemouth 19-20/9.

Cheers

Glad to hear you've got it all sorted, going through is a lot quicker now.
Look forward to seeing you in Folkestone.

At lunchtime today a footbridge over the M20 collapsed onto two lorries. Thankfully no one was killed and there appears to be only one person injured and not seriously.
I'm sure most of it will be cleared in time for Euro, but it wouldn't surprise if it is closed for a while, while the remaining section of the bridge is demolished.
Very worrying that something like that has happened. I can't say that i can ever remember that happening in the past.

Malc

Just been watching this on sky news. It's going to take some sorting out as the remains piece of the bridge is still hanging over the opposite side of the motorway.

Tommi

Apparently one of the lorries crashed into the bridge. I bet his insurance will go up...... big time. If anyone will insure him again.
How can you hit a bridge??????
Either a tyre burst, driver dosed off at the wheel, or mobile phone.

police are saying the road will remain closed until sunday / Monday,i think with euro being 2 weeks away,it should be ok,thankfully nobody was killed

A biker narrowly missed being crushed by falling wreckage, had the nous to let the bike go, and jumped clear, suffering only a broken wrist. The gods were smiling on him today; I wish him well. As for the lorries........Oh,dear.

Great diorama it looks real is that the only photo

All the talk that goes on about Euro I am expecting a lot of good pics at some point and not 2 or 3 :)

Euro is a very difficult place to take photos unless you have some high powered lens on your camera,i gave up taking pictures a few years ago because they're are so many people jostling for position, pushing and shoving,it just isn't worth the hassle, especially if you get some idiot knock into you while your near the models,i just wait for the euro military modeling special edition now.

Sounds like you need an Australian bloke there.................... someone tough enough to do the job...................... as in take pics :)

It's not just those wanting to take photos, there are those who are just clambering to see everything on display, which makes it even harder for those of us trying to get to the figures so we can photograph them for the Special.
Maybe I need an Australian bloke to clear the way for me.
Still you can't blame them, after all the quality of work on display is always astounding.
