Looks fine, and this is still early doors. There is plenty of time to iron the metaphorical creases out.
Araldite will sort the hands, if superglue isn't enough.
That last one of mine is held together with a mixture of glue and prayer.

Thanks David, I was thinking along those lines or drilling a small hole alongside the paperclip and using entomologist pins to do the securing. Just need some small drill bits as I snapped my last one a few weeks ago

Catching up with this one and superb it is , very nice

Cheers Bob, I do like an Indian Army subject every now and then.

This is looking pretty darned good to me so far....

Like all great artists you are leaving subtle traces for future generations to find......or maybe not!:)

Thanks Nigel, no intentional marks left but I am sure on closer inspection there will be some on some of my figures. No pretentious at being a great artist by any stretch of the imagination just glad I'm still able to do it.

Cheers Simon

Hi Simon

This looks good ......you left your mark ...lol ...glad it’s sorted ....at least you didn’t superglue a thumb to the cutting mat ....not much print left now !

Turban’s looking the business

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy putty pushing

Cheers Kev, yes the thumb print brushed out but the creases aren't as sharp as they were, still a blind man on a galloping horse wouldn't notice. I get plenty of super glue on my hands where I cut myself frequently, a bit of tissue and a liberal layer of glue usually stops the bleeding.

I managed a bit of bench time, I needed it to restore what little sanity I still have. Had a very whiney little girl today and a lot of truly atrocious kids TV.

Anyhow, the SNCO's crimson sash is in place, I did this over the weekend, he now has eppulets, his Indian General Service Medal, cuff slash and service chevrons.

Next session I'll do the right arm, given how long some of these details took I wasn't going to risk obliterating them with a stylish thumb print.

David, Neil & Steve, thank you gents very nice of you all, it seems I'm the only one who isn't that happy with it. There is something off and I'm not sure what it is yet, so just go for the critique like a kick in the bollocks and maybe I'll suss what's wrong.

Cheers Simon

Hi Simon

Glad to hear sanity has been restored .....this is a great update and step forward , nice details on the chevrons and the medal , sash looks fine to me ...what’s it like at the ends ?

You should be happy with this as it stands now ...it will only get better .....can you do all round views ?

Perhaps the hands are too prominent from the cuffs ?

This is getting close to paint ...keep at it ..it’s great to follow

Happy benchtime

Kev, David and Victor, I will revisit the hands/cuffs and take both opinions into account. Maybe I'm being over critical, I always hit this barrier at around this stage but this time I seem to have hit it at speed, time will tell.

Cheers Simon

Hi Simon, this is really coming on a treat, my only thought is to push the hands further up the sleeve, as they don't look quite right.
The bottom of the cuff should normally cover the base of the wrist.

Malc

David, Neil, Malc & Kev, many thanks gents, I have been at the bench already today and added a little length to the cuffs. That may have been what I wasn't seeing as the cuff ends were not exactly squared off so I have fixed that, it's buttons next then I'll post some images all the way round.

Cheers Simon

Right then let's go. The right arm has had the cuff slash and chevrons added, both cuffs have been sightly elongated and squared off. He now has a cap badge on the turban and buttons on the tunic. Time to step back for a bit and give him a good look over with fresh eyes before priming and painting.

I've just been replacing some hands on a couple of 1/35 figures and when I saw the photos earlier I too thought the hands protruded too much. I think the tweaks above really help and the figure looks great. Paint please!
