I've been remiss in adding progress and painting in general. Here is the latest.

He looks fantastic John. I get an idea of what your scene will be like from the staging you have started. I look forward to the next step. (y)

Thanks guys. It's coming along, but I haven't been very motivated lately. If I could get the paints out I could finish this figure in a week. So far I only have the flesh areas and the leggings painted.

I enjoy creating a scene even if it's for a single figure. The work of Christian Petit is a wealth of inspiration. I intend to get a little braver with the water this time.

John, Very nice. I really like the additional effort that is put into the groundwork that makes your figures so special.~Gary

Great work so far John. I really love groundworks and yours it's truly a gem. I have the opinion though that when the groundwork is way to attractive then the figure is missing its "glory". What do you think?

Lovely looking figure, well done, the groundwork looks like its going to be stunning with the figure on that log, will it have a river flowing under the log...?

Dave

Thanks again.

Joe, it's a 54mm conversion on Gary's F&I Brit.

Dave, there will be water flowing under the log.

I agree Kisifer, I have been guilty of this before. I try to keep it from occurring by placing the figure central to the composition and making sure the groundwork complements and provides a context for the figure.
