I had a few stops and starts doing this figure but got there in the end. Italian subjects are seemingly few and far between, well apart from Bersagliary (have I spelt that right?). I came across the illustration for this on Pintrest and couldn't resist making it.

As per usual he started life as a plastic 1/35th figure with all detail stripped off and a Hornet head attached. The only other commercial bits on show are the hands, boots and a re-sized Historex sword. Everything else is either Magicsculpt or post it paper (trouser stripes) and a bit of foil for sword slings and sword knot.

Painted in Acrylics, mostly but not exclusively Scalecolor 75.

I intend making more of my own figures and more Italians to be sure, however I am going to bump up to 1/32nd scale to see if I can improve with more room to sculpt in. Not quite ready for anything bigger yet but I do want to try my hand at 60 to 75mm figures.

Very nicely done, and an excellent addition to your collection.

Malc

Cheers Malc, I'm quite pleased with this one, particularly the helmet, going to do more like this because I really like the unusual cut of the uniform.

Many thanks Kev, yes I intend doing more Italians in the future, just going to bump up to 1/32nd scale to see how that works out for me.
