Will probably do the actual medals after I’ve done the bling on the shoulders etc

Going to lighten the cross belt first though ! .....then will start on collar lace ...get all gold done then do crosses and star

My word! they look fantastic, I'm sure you're happy with them and probably needed a bit of a lie down afterwards. Keep up the great work, Nap.

Excellent and precise work so far!

NB The sword belt is gold painted leather, as it was the distinction "За храбрость", "For Bravery".

Cheers,

Pierre

Thanks Pierre ....ref belt .....in the portrait the belt looks like a dark brown leather with a brass buckle ....is that artists license .....?

In your great version it’s got the “gold” look .........I live and learn ref belt !

Should the belt be all leather but gold covered ?

All the visible parts of the belt should be gold covered leather, as for the buckle I don't think you risk the wrath of the Russian empire by painting it yellow metal/gold.

I chose white metal, but I'll delve in my reference to check.

Cheers,

Pierre

Looks really good on the ribbons as Pierre says 'precise' and even texture shaded in excellent. All hail Pierre 'the font of all knowledge', we are lucky to have him here.

Cheers Simon

When I first looked at the picture, I thought it was the real thing, until I noticed the medals that needed painting.
Just shows what a stunning job you're making of this. Young Man. :D
