Managed to get back to the bench recently, here I've started work on the shako cover and the first stages of the face.
I always work from top to bottom when painting busts,i find it much easier to work this way.
Somehow I managed to glue the musket to the shoulder, which was not intended but i'm going to have to live with it now,it shouldn't be a problem during the painting process anyway.
The shako was undercoated in acrylics and followed by oils to finish and weather, the face has had some main colours laid in with some 5 o'clock shadow,i still need to do some more with the face yet before I can say i'm happy with it.
just laid in some basic colours on the musket ,flag and jacket just to get a feel for the piece.
