thanks Ben and Adrian, I was very nervous hoping I could do justice to such a great sculpt and what it is now a very rare and expensive kit - I saw one go on Ebay recently for over USD250, which does tend to make you think twice before you take a drill and putty to it! I even considered not cutting the lamp off the helmet as the Hot Toys Kane figure is pretty hard to come by these days as well (in the end I prised it out and put a plate with screws over the gap so my modifications are reversible if I decide I want the helmet for something else, although I'm so happy with how this turned out I don't think I will be revisiting it any time soon!).

Yes, the figure doesn't come with a helmet. If you search on e bay you can find a number of sellers who seem to break up 1/6 action figure sets and sell the parts separately, I was lucky enough to find someone just selling the helmet from the Hot Toys Kane figure a while ago and bought it specifically in anticipation of this build (I also have the full Hot Toys figure but didn't want to break it up just for the helmet). If I hadn't found the helmet on e bay I would most likely have taken a cast from the Kane helmet I have. I think the helmet sets the figure off nicely and fills out the base a bit more.

The helmet really does add to overall result. I shall start searching. By the way Polar Lights are bringing out a Kane figure. 1/9 scale in resin.

Yeah I think the Polar Lights kit is the one of Kane bending over the egg just before the facehugger attacks him. Could be good!!!!
John, looking forward to your next project
Ben
