My sons did spoil me, they bought me FeR's Sergeant 28th foot and gave me the money to purchase the drummer.
Luckily the cat didn't leave me anything soft and smelly, no something wet instead............ 4 bottles of beer.
If you're wondering how he bought it, he used his paw-ket money.

He must've been "feline" generous that day. Ohoho.
Hi Adrian, since I sculpt my own canvasses as well as paint them, I beg leave to consider myself an artist .
Seriously though, I do think of what we do as an art form, and nothing annoys me more (with the exception of politicians) than the attitude, aided and abetted by some, that we are just silly old men playing with toy soldiers.
Sorry Guys, but what we do is miniature art. Perhaps we should have a go at painting flats. You can put in all the shadows you like and then you can bend them into wierd shapes if you want to go all surrealist. Then again maybe we should take a look at the Miniature Art societies, their only definition of a miniature is that the scale is 1/6 or less.
Or you could just say Sod the over analysis and paint what you like and in what colours
