That greenery does look natural ...think I might relook at mine ...after finishing flowers !

The flowers are underpainted!

As for the tulips, they are already being given an underpainting that largely corresponds to the later color ...:



It is different with the daffodils and the carnations! They are - covered - underlined with white ...



... which will benefit the later luminosity of the colors - especially the yellow ...:
