It continues with the last part - the right hand.
A first look shows: In addition to the pin, which will later be used for fastening, there is an undesirable cast burr ...:
That doesn't bother me, because I grind the peg away anyway - which puts an end to the ridge, too!
The paw will later be glued flush - that gives me the crucial tenths of a millimeter to be able to fit the hand exactly.
Less pleasantly, a second look reveals that a ridge (shape misalignment!) runs along the entire thumb ...:
So carving and grinding is the order of the day again until the hand can withstand a critical eye ...:
Now I need something to hold on while painting!
So a small hole is drilled in the later invisible place on the wrist ...
... and the hand attached to a cork with a small piece of carpet tape and a toothpick ...:
Then it is washed off and primed ...:
The plan is now:
I will paint the inside of the paw - it is hardly visible later - then attach the hand to the figure and finally paint the visible outside ...
