The highlights on the upper arms and the side forearm are on!

However, I had to cancel my brushwork on our hero's forward forearm!

Today's lighting conditions (sometimes the sun shines through the window like a spotlight, five minutes later it is pitch dark and the next hailstorm rushes down) make it absolutely hopeless to achieve a reasonable result with the gentle wrinkles ...:

Tomorrow then...

Then I'll do the cufflinks right away.

Cheers

Hi Martin

Despite the changing lighting you are having the highlights you've done looks good

It continues with the last part - the right hand.

A first look shows: In addition to the pin, which will later be used for fastening, there is an undesirable cast burr ...:

That doesn't bother me, because I grind the peg away anyway - which puts an end to the ridge, too!

The paw will later be glued flush - that gives me the crucial tenths of a millimeter to be able to fit the hand exactly.

Less pleasantly, a second look reveals that a ridge (shape misalignment!) runs along the entire thumb ...:

So carving and grinding is the order of the day again until the hand can withstand a critical eye ...:

Now I need something to hold on while painting!

So a small hole is drilled in the later invisible place on the wrist ...

... and the hand attached to a cork with a small piece of carpet tape and a toothpick ...:

Then it is washed off and primed ...:

The plan is now:

I will paint the inside of the paw - it is hardly visible later - then attach the hand to the figure and finally paint the visible outside ...

Cheers

Hi Martin

At last the final piece to the jigsaw ! ...I too had the same to deal with ...my heart was in my mouth when I had to adjust the wrist to fit !

I painted the inside of hand ..like you say it won't be seen but had to be done !

Thanks for updates

The hand is assembled!

And the careful preparatory work has paid off, because the paw is now exactly where it belongs ...:

The wrist fills the cuff of the gymnastiorka - and the heel of the hand rests just above the cheekbone without appearing unnatural ...

And a good part of the painted inside of the hand can still be seen ...:

Cheers

Hi Martin
