John

There was illness so Hawk never made it ....probably why you never saw them

Very impressive, Kev. Really looking forward to seeing how you'll handle the miniature portrait.. A miniature of a miniature, yikes!
Rick

That will probably be the first thing I will go for !

This is a cracking bust Nap and I'm sure you'll enjoy painting it.

Malc

I agree it's probably the best of the Waterloo set IMO

Due to an affinity with the great white telephone I was unable to make the show which is a shame as I was looking forward to it and it look like a good day was had by all.

Malc all three bust are still available fromus just send me a PM if you, or anyone is interested.

Nap,
Wellington is on its way :)

Hi everyone

Quick Iffyvision piccy's

Eyes done just need to edge in with flesh base

Started on the " massive " portrait.......coming along nicely ...definately a optivisor in use ! .....will need to lighten the backing colour around the PR , this should define the hair shaping , then it's the sash on it after doing a little more on the red uniform , then the aguilette and shoulder cord, buttons , then the actual frame surround

All thoughts welcome and indeed suggestions are

Thanks for looking in

Happy benchtime

Like what you've done with those eyes of his, they have a lot of depth. (y)

Now tell me, at the beginning of your post there is a picture of a bottle with Blucher's portrait on it that contains an amber liquid. What is it, whiskey or pancake syrup? :D

Excellent!!! The eyes and the miniature portrait on the medallion are a tour de force on their own.

Mario

Hi Warren, Aris and Mario

Thanks for the comments ......paint the surround yesterday ......wasn't happy at all so I removed the tiny circles of putty and reworked the surface again

....looks better now ( I hasten to add nothing wrong with DG's surround ! ) ....now painted up again

Thinking of adding tiny flecks of sparkle using something suitable like glitter .....Malc C did similar with his Nelson diamond plume in the Military Modelling magazine article

Might also use Kristal Klear over the portrait....I'm thinking it must have been behind a extremely thin glass ........anyone got any thoughts ?

Will post pic later

Happy benchtime
