It may be an iffy pic, but even on this Blücher's medaillon looks fabulous. Following, following...

Hi folks

Update with pics ......working on the collar embroidery ...finished both sides just the 2 edging lines to do

All done with no metallics

Need to relook at the actual collar red a little

This isn't going as fast as as I wanted but still enjoying the painting

All comments welcome

Do you paint the whole bust and only then come back to the details (lights, shadows...)?

I basecoat all areas , then work my way around ....supposedly to a plan but as with most I manage to forget any plan
....no reason why I haven't painted the face first as with most painters

Once it's all " finished " with the look again at the highs and shadows

Hi folks

Piccy update ....finished the front of aguilette .....since pic I have finished all of it .....just the crossed batons on shoulder epaulette

As a bit of a break I also basecoated the next which is a bust sculpted by Nick Majerus when he had Regimental S-4 of a US Marine Drum Major ....more on this after Blücher!

As always thoughts and comments welcome

Happy benchtime

Hi everyone

Piccy update

All of aguilette and shoulder pieces ( on both sides ) finished , I added a button on the right side

Repainted sash ...still might push it further

A little more work on the larger star ( Order of Bath ) then it's the o e under the sash at top ....the order of Black Eagle

All my version of NMM

After that it will be the uniform blue then the flesh and hair .....nameplate all ready and waiting

Next in line will be the Marine DM ....he keeps shouting at me !

Click on for larger pics if you wish

All comments welcome

Hi everyone

Been working on Blücher inbetween the lovely weather !

I lengthened the aguilette ....looked a little odd stopping abruptly so got the putty out

Also wasn't fully happy with the crown above portrait...so drilled it out

Repainted the uniform colour , happy now but will look again once flesh and hair done

Also revisited the sash and collar

Then it's just the nameplate and signing the base at back

As always all comments , suggestions welcome

Thanks for looking in

Coming on nicely Nap.
Dark Blue can be tricky to paint at times. Have you got Indigo, that seems to work well for me.
