Cheers marc
still trying to get the balance right but hopefully getting better as i do more figures.
The shading and highlighting do look better in real life, the camera has dulled it down more than i noticed when i posted the pictures.

Hi Tony
I think you are doing a cracking job as said it is practice practice and more I have been doing it years and I learn something every time I put a brush to paint , find your own style paint for yourself sometimes you will sit down to paint and just won't flow other times it just falls together , if you have an old figure use it to practice on experiment but most of all enjoy it
Cheers Chris

I am impressed Tony, the skin tone is very good, as are the reds and British Napoleonic red is a nightmare for many.

I would rather you hear the positives than critcise but I think next time you will be braver and push those shadows and highlights much more.

But one step at a time, I commend your bravery, not many of the older hands on here put their first figures up for critique.

cheers for the encouragement guys. i dont mind the criticism if it is in a constructive manner and i feel that all you guys have been really good with that.
i plucked up courage to post my first works on here because i felt and have since found that it is the best way of getting the help and advice i need to keep progressing my level of painting.
once again thanks to all you guys on here for making my start in the hobby a really smooth one(y)
