Eduardo, I very much appreciate you posting pics of the painting of the bust of Napoleon in stages.

Question, What is the material below the lapel on the coat on the left side? Is it a silk material or the lining of the coat extending down out of the coat? You painted it a pinkish, red color. I am just curious as to the type of material and what the object is?

Hi Terry, the band in the left side, under the lapel is a strong fabric that form waves, called moire. Is red color, and is the band of the legion d´honneur. Napoleon, wore it under the coat, and it goes around the right shoulder and at the end, over his left hip, hangs the medal-the legion d´honneur itself.
The marechals of the empire wore it over the coat.
