Having seen this in person, I can say that these photos pale in comparison to the actual piece. This piece is absolutely stunning and very thought provoking. There are details that you can see in person and you can get the feel of the desperation of this subject. The tears coming from his eyes, the strain against the wire, absolutely a very visual piece. The sock monkey doll actually adds to the whole scene and is this strange detail that adds to the carnage feel of war.

Yes Mr. Mitchell, I do suggest you see the movie. I got tears in my eyes about eight times because it was so moving. Truth be told, as I finished this figure I teared up a little bit, it was so sad to see it come to an end.

Wow!!!!!! This is awesome, the power and feeling displayed is perfect and with your little touches like the doll just set it off and make it that little bit more thought provoking. As others have said, the way you have displayed the free floating base looks great.

No sir, it is wafer board used in construction. I took pliers and broke off chunks of it and then broke it into smaller pieces that fit the shape I wanted. I was having some work done on my house and these 4'x8' sheets of wafer board were all over the place. One had been broken in half by accident but I loved the edge that was created when this happened. Thats when I decided to break one up to see if it had potential which it did. It was one of those happy accidents. Thanks for asking and thanks everyone for the comments. I appreciate them very much and read them all.
