This is a 54mm figure of a British soldier in Afghanistan in 1878. My wife's Great Grandfather, John Mullen, was out there at this time and fought at Ali Musjid. I have painted this figure to commemorate him.

Hi John ,

What a nice job you have done on this one ..like the kharki ..oils or acrylics ? I like the pose of the figure as well who make this one ..Benito ? ?

A really nice thing to do as a tribute to the good lady's Great Grandfather .

Thanks for sharing

Nap

Thanks for the comments Kev. Yes it's a Beneito kit and he is painted in acrylics, oils and enamel.

Very nice Jazz and as Nap says a fitting tribute to your wife's Great Grandfather.

What Regiment was he with, in those far off days?

Don

Thanks Don. John joined the 108th Regiment which later became the Royal Irish Rangers. I have googled for pictures of their uniform but it appears that the Infantry at this time dressed quite similarly in Afghanistan so if there are mistakes in the uniform I apologise in advance.
