Thanks Mario and Oda!

Congrats Robert.Totally well deserved. The Bakumatsu Japanese soldiers caught my eye too.So sad you don't remember who's work they are.

Oda.

Maybe next year the will be painted and in the competition again. Gonna ask then who made them.

Congratulations on the awards, and thanks for sharing the pictures.

I don't suppose you recall who is doing these Japanese?

I think the sculptor is Gabor Szabo and it was called soldiers of the Satzuma clan.
. I guess he sculpts for Black Army models also.

Hello all,

It has been a while since I posted some work in my thread since the summer break. I have been busy with a lot of things but did some modelling time during the wee hours. I made the decision to skip the Bigeard figure. Too much things I wasn’t happy about, so he is gone. Just clipped of the head for another try later.

Started another portrait of a military leader: Moshe Dayan in his younger years during the 1948 Arab Israeli war.
This is actually the second version. Not really happy with the first one, again discarded that one and started all over again. Happy enough with this one. I started painting yesterday and like to share the results of the first two painting sessions.
Still a lot to do.

Thanks and all the best,

Very nice indeed, loving the creases in the shirt, all the makings of another cracking figure.

Cheers Simon

Very nice work, and good to see you posting again.

Shame about Bigeard but no doubt he will be back , as for this Figure , even at this stage recognisable as the subject , like what you’ve done with the shirt and the eye patch

Looking forward to seeing more on this

Have fun @ the bench

Yes, excellent post, great brush work!

A very accurate rendition of one of the 20th century's most iconic military commanders.
