Glad you foound those bits because this is really starting to look the part now. The changes you have made really help, I think the head and neck proportions are much better now.

Some decent progress to report, things are going slowly, I think I might have too many projects on the go, although six isn't too bad!

Anyway, he is now sporting a dashing bicorn, has two arms, although one still need a fair bit of work and has lace has been updated. The brown splodge in his nether regions is a mix of Brown Stuff and Magicsculpt that I am trying out and quite enjoying, all I have to do is remember what ratios I used, I should write these things down!

Neil, Kev & David,

Cheers gentlemen, I've been busy being Granddaughtered this week and not much doing tomorrow as I have an eye injection, again.

Neil, I wish I could take credit for the right hand but that's the one that came with the kit and given the proportions of the fella himself I thought I'd stick to the limbs provided.

Kev, so far I'm liking the way it shapes into creases, it has edges to the creases that I can't get with Magicsculpt alone. The other advantage is that I can see the putty I'm sculpting with, under bright light there isn't much difference between white plastic and Magicsculpt. On the down side it's a little harder to smooth out than Magicsculpt on its own, but I'm using a 50/50 mix today so maybe I'll change the ratio to add more Magicsculpt. I'll let you know.

David, have a look at the left hand for me, the one that's supposed to be nonchalantly resting on his hip. Does it look too contrived?

Cheers Simon

I recognise it now, but I still think you have positioned it well, it's rather unnatural normally.

Superb progress here, this is really coming together but looks like a lot of work.

That left hand definitely needs repositioning IMO, you could use this figure as a guide: https://www.cgsmilitaryfigures.co.uk/product-page/ed01200

Or you could do what I did, which is to buy this figure in 75mm and save all the hassle of converting the Historex one.......:)

I will deal with the left hand Nigel then he should look OK, where is the fun in buying the figure when I can spend hours of satisfying and stressful modelling. The figure does have a superb pose though, have you painted it yet?

Cheers Simon

I have corrected the left hand, he looks more normal now. Also a couple of my other projects that are on going, just to illustrate the continued use of Brown Stuff/Magicsculpt mix. This time a 25% BS & 75% MS, a little softer to work with but lacking the hard edges the BS gives so maybe next time I'll reverse the ratio.

Off for a needle in the eye soon.
