Cheers David but it's not that, I usually hit this barrier somewhere along the road, just got to push and I get past it. If I didn't I'd never finish anything!

Cheers Simon
I talk to myself (often), especially in the car. And often work out what's next in the current modelling project. It's generally shading and highlighting.

It's often the only way to get a sensible conversation going, I stopped doing it in the car when I realised the dash cam recorded audio. Don't want evidence I was losing the argument with myself if I had a crash.

I hope so Nigel, I'm at that stage I get with all.my projects, thinking this will never be as good as I'd hoped
I think most of us that aren't "full time" painters and modellers get that. I always have big ideas in my mind and my projects never quite match up to them. So it's either give up (which I do some times) or readjust expectations. Give it a break and come back to it.

You've invested a lot in this one, I would say it's worth persevering with as it's looking pretty good to me.

Cheers Nigel, I have no intention of giving up, too much the stubborn Yorkshireman for that. For me it's everything I get to the early painting stage, when it looks a mess and all.my expectations just go floppy. I crack on for a bit then everything comes together and I'm happy with it again, getting there today so I'll have up dates later on.

Been working through my doldrums and am now back on track. I spent a good portion of the day painting the Lassale style riding breeches, the leather booting and the blue fabric. There is still work to do on the blue of the trousers but I'm fairly happy with the booting.

I also spent some time painting the saddle, lots and lots to do on the leather, the saddle cloth is blocked in for highlights so lots of glazing next time.

Cheers Adrian, he's getting there so my malaise is lifting, it happens with most figure at the start of the painting process, just shrug it off, have another drink and crack on.

According to my wife my corner workstation is a zone of negativity, I reckon that's just because I swear when I drop things, I'm really clumsy and drop a lot of stuff!

Hi Simon

Throw that malaise out the window and don’t drop too much ...lol

Thanks for the update

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy times @ the bench

I'll be back on the brushes as soon as, got a night's sleep to catch up.on thanks to.the stupid damn hip, but hey ho at least I still have one that works so it can't be all bad!

Cheers Simon

A wee bit more progress on his trousers, still haven't got the blending quite right, I also re-underpainted the lace and braiding which needs to.be painted yellow. Also some more glazing on the saddle cloth and making a start on the leather of the saddle.
