Your new shade of gray works well Malc, but I have to admit that the blue tone of the first version seemed like the right choice to me. I trust you, you are the one who has the piece in hand and you are the artist who presents your vision of the character. Either way, I am sure that in the end I will absolutely not be disappointed by your work!! 👍
Thanks Bran.
The Violet Grey was a nice tone, but I think it will have ended up too bright for my liking.
Now I've begun work on the Brown Grey, its more suited to the end result I'm after.

Hi Malc

Glad your feeling better mate long may it continue

I like the way the cuffs have come out , surprising filler was needed but you’ve handled the tiny gaps well

Looking forward to seeing more updates

Have fun @ the bench

Nap
Thanks Nap, Feeling much better now.
On inspection this morning I found that I need to add some more filler to tidy it up.
Something I could've done without, but It would've been noticeable it I hadn't.

With the Christmas festivities over, I was able to return to the bench this morning.
I love listening to Sabaton while I paint, but this morning was going to be a little different.
Our cat, bought me a Sabaton DVD for Christmas. ( A very thoughtful pet.
And and as I have a TV above my bench, I could enjoy watching them while I worked.

Once I tidied up the areas that had required filler, I turned my attention to adding the shadows to the coat.
There's still a lot more to be done yet, and I want to complete the basic shadows, before working on the lacing.

Really good on the coat, I think now the blue might have been too light/bright a colour even dulled down for the mood of this piece.

Cheers Simon
Thanks Simon, I think this shade of grey is proving to be the right choice, the other would've been to bright
and not suited to the character.

Hi Malc

Nice recovery with the putty , liking the colour of the coat ...this bust seems to have a lots of things to paint and your doing a fine job

Well done to the 🐈 as well

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

Nap
Thanks Nap, You're spot on, there's so much to paint, and I've decided to take it at a slower pace, and put as much
detail in it as possible. It's such a nice piece, I don't want to ruin it by rushing.

This morning I've continued on the coat by adding more depth to some of the shadows, and increasing the
highlights, but doing my best to keep them subtle.
I've also begun building up the basecoat of the lacing.
