Being a newbie I thought I'd better show some of my work.
For the nameplate, I made the mount out of magic-scuplt and painted to match the wooden base.

Hi Malcolm

Welcome aboard, I hope the leg is a lot better, you could try importing the images at the bottom of the post or using links to photo bucket, try not to make them too large in pixel size or resolution, they will display ok...

Hi Dave

Thanks for the welcome and the info, managed to get the photos on, but in the wrong order.:(
Oh well.

wow! That's something else!! Putting aside your paintjob (which is,in my opinion, perfect) I'm I wondering how did you make the square section for the nameplate of the wooden base. It's Really cool :wideyed::woot:

Cheers Steve

Tarracus.

I began with a blob of magic-sculpt and adhered it to the base and put the plate in position and let it set. Then I simply filled it in, again with magic-sculpt and sanded it down.
The wood effect was painted in Andrea acrylics and then varnished.

I am of the view that customizing a base always brings an extra value to the figure, and in this case, talking about a so widely-seen bust, your action here is especially effective. I like it a lot

First of all that is some top work on that bust! Secondly, your base reflects some creativity here and I really like it. Great job!

Great painting, really nice job and that base is excellent.
I'd like to see a pic that shows the whole piece, base and bust.

Thank you for all replies, very much appreciated, and I'm glad you like the bust.
