That's certainly an interesting turn of phrase Brain, I'm not familiar with that expression mate,...I can't really recall seeing it in text nor indeed ever hearing anyone express that sentiment...
But I guess now that I think about it I suppose one could possibly see it that way, and perhaps use an expression similar to that one to describe a certain attitude.......thanks Brian.

I have read and re-read all the posts in this discussion. Would someone point me to a single 'whinge' from those of us that attended. Because I can only find comments relating to how much we all enjoyed ourselves.
That being the case, why are so many derogatory posts being made. Not much 'camaraderie' in that.

Ron

The whinging seemed to be from those who didn't attend.....making assumptions about numbers based on a photo or two.....

competition entries were up to the best of my knowledge, and some traders reported greater than expected business.....I'm sure some didn't though

Judging seemed decent overall, didn't hear of any obvious howlers like in some years......

Those there enjoyed it (how could they not) and there were a good number of new visitors.....

But what can any show do to turn it around? This is the internet age during an economic downturn...........I've no idea how much the Leas costs to occupy it for 3 days...

Apparently it's "cool" Rob :shifty:

I must say I'm quite suprised by some of the comments about how quiet Euro was this year. Admitedly I saw most of it from a traders point of view but I did manage a decent wander around.
There was a queue waiting for entry along the Leas at 9:30 on Saturday morning, the likes of which hasn't been seen for a number of years. There were a few noticable absences on the trading floor but those traders that were there had a huge range of new releases and a vast array of modelling related products. The competition entries had reached the 1700 mark by the time I manged to get down there with my figures at mid day; in some categories there was so much to look at you couldn't take it all in.
We've been trading at Euro for 3 years (I've been going for 10 years on top of that ) and we had the busiest Saturday we've ever had and Sunday wasn't much different. We had a lot of interest from overseas visitors but there didn't seem to be the profusion of club shirts normally seen which may give the appearance of fewer foreign attendees.
To be honest I don't think the figure modeller has had it this good for a long time (y)

Please can Mil Mod bring back the Euro Special!!!!
I hope the pessimists are reading this

I'm a Euro veteran and I reckon it was a brilliant show, the traders were doing good business, the competition standard was amazing, and the camradie was at it's best other than the people who take the whole thing a way too serious(sad really) I had a ball!!!

Don! ... LOL!.... Could it be? .. the possibility, of those person's, of whom you mention, ... are clenching their, 'Arse Cheeks', together, whilst holding a tight grip on their veritable 'Wallet'. .... Gritting their teeth, with indecision. ... Now, to my mind, that would take much more muscle usage, by keeping their underwear clean, than a smile!! :ROFLMAO::LOL:

Mark

Perhaps you are correct Mark, I will need to look into that (but not to closely you understand) Never thought about it like that. You may have just discovered a new breed of Cheek Clenchers. Just seems easier to me that a person smiles than be miseable. I was pretty worn out over the weekend but still managed a smile and a laugh.

Don

To be fair though Don you were pretty relaxed with all that whisky you were sampling. :wideyed:
From the posts I have read there doesn't seem to have been much moaning and whinging at all and I'm glad you all had a great time as its too far a distance to travel and not enjoy it.
