The webbed belt is excellent, you've to the feel of that kind of webbing really well and the brass looks good too.

I've pressed on with the scarf this morning, before heading back to the decorating.
Prior to applying the basecoat, I did some pre shading with a mix of Vallejo chocolate brown and scale 75 black.
For the basecoat I used a blend of Vallejo Green Brown and Scale 75 Ardennes green.
For the shadows, Chocolate brown and black, hoping that this would also give the appearance of the scarf being a bit grubby,
and finally I added Scale 75 Birch to the base mic and picked out the highlights using a flat brush.
This is definitely more fun than painting a wall. :D

This one is going to be a cracker, not tempted to do a more colourful home knit scarf?

Cheers Simon

I'll be quite honest, I didn't think of that. :(. I've seen so many versions of this with a green scarf, I followed suit. Doh!
A nice burgundy colour would've look good.

I'm finding it quite fun switching between figures, and it's the WW1 busts turn for an update.
This morning I had a little time to get some painting in, before getting on with other chores.

I painted the gas mask pouch before cementing it in position.
For the basecoat I mixed up a mid khaki tone using Vallejo Ochre and Scale 75 .,
I added Scale 75 White to produce the base colour.
For the shadow tones I added Vallejo Chocolate brown and Scale 75 Black to the base mix, and for the highlight, I just added more white to the base mix.
I kept the detail relatively subtle, before adding washes of a blend of the black and brown, to give it the appearance of dirt being ground in.
Following this I pushed the highlights a little bit further, before adding another wash.

The coat will be up next.

I previously mentioned the coat was up next.
Prior to painting, I Googled some pictures of the coat to get an idea of the colour.

I came up with a mix, starting with Andrea, Burnt Sienna, then added a little Vallejo Chocolate Brown, Scale75 Ardennes Green, and a small amount of Birch to lighten
the tone. The Shadows were added with the addition of the brown, plus a tiny amount of black, and for the highlights I added a little more Birch to the base mix,
to create the top highlight.
