was in Don's company last night ,his face is already painted with the St Andrews cross , Brian had the union Jack ,Del just had a stern look on his face ,Davie looked bemused and I had the italian flag on my face as I;m keeping all options open :)

That's right Davie and me were the only ones not wearing makeup

It will be interesting to see Salmond's response should the Shetlanders and Orcadians opt for independence from Scotland in the event of a 'Yes' vote. After all, it is Shetland's, not Scotland's oil!

I'm still hoping and praying for the maintenance of the Union (on the basis that with the UK, 2 + 2 = 5).

Mike

Coming from a lad from London,i take my hat off to you. We're all British with different ascents Mike.

As I have previously written, my parents were Aussies, so I'm really a bit of a mongrel (I'm sure there are some on this site who'd agree)!

Mike

Nigel, your a star.I totally agree with what you say about this issue.I too have done my homework, and there's no case for independence and as i've been saying all along it's a gamble, one that i wouldn't take with my grandkids future.
Don is a paid up member of the "braveheart" club and i've tried everything to bring him into the light, but i'm just wasting my time.LOL
I'll get pelters of him when he reads this ,no doubt.
Brian

Brian has no one told Don that there is no such person as Braveheart :)

Indeed Mike. Salmond knows full well that this is in the offing and yet again he has failed to inform the Scottish people. That's 67 percent of " his" oil sitting in Shetland waters. There has already been a petition put to the Scottish Parliament for the Islands to remain with the UK if the vote is yes.

I'm pure Scottish blood (as far as i know) but my daughter was born in Wagga Mike.

The Bruce is buried in Dunfermline Abbey, and back in late Victorian times his tomb was reopened. He was found to be in a remarkable state of preservation. Part of his jaw had gone, but his red hair remained and his face was recognisable as depicted in several paintings. He was resealed in his resting place with molten pitch.

2 Quotes
"The most notable fact of all is that the name “Brave Heart” actually refers to Robert the Bruce and not William Wallace. After his death, Robert’s heart was literally carried into battle, giving birth to the nickname".
Another quote. While carrying the chest, Douglas was ambushed as he tried to aid a fellow warrior. About to be slain, the courageous knight held out the casket and said, “Onward brave heart, Douglas shall follow thee or die.” He didn’t make it.
William Wallace was never called braveheart other than in the movies.
I rest my case.

Never mind Braveheart......here's a thought
Leonardo DiCaprio has been lined up to play Harald Hardrada, Norway's warrior king, in a Warner Brothers production pitched as the "Viking Braveheart".
Can they be serious..........

2014 was the worst box office year for Hollywood since 1997. Guess why?

Leonardo Di Caprio as Harald Hardrada makes about as much sense as Mel Gibson playing Wallace, and fir pretty much the same reason.
Best wishes, Gary.
P.S. who's playing Tostig?
