Nah, takes all the fun out of it!:D

Ain't that the truth. I've been plodding away and changed things around. A new arm from the spares box, they are kept separate left and right. I straightened the arm and re-pinned it, removed the hand ready to glue to the rifle and sank a blade in my thumb three times. Then I discovered the arm I chose was miss filed, it wasn't left it was another right arm. D'Ho!

Redid all the hard work with a 'real' left arm.

Good luck with your hip. It sounds like a very tiring experience.
So far, the figure looks really nice. I hope you get settled on the left arm's final position.

Over the years I have developed my own way of dealing with pain given that pain killers are not an option, I can usually sleep through it. Unfortunately the hip is just too much and is having a very bad effect on my titanium knee joint just below it. Still got an additional 4 hours modelling through the night!

I reckon the pics above are the final position, just needs some fettling before building the sleeve up and sculpting the grip on the Rifle, then it's time to paint.

This is definitely a work of love,
What material is the gun sling ? ( pink).

Great job man,
Sometimes i sand the entire shee of foild to make it a little thin that it is , it helps witg shaping it.

I used the foil for his belt which is fine scale wise but the detail on the G&G rifle is exquisite, the sling swivels are printed in place and the paper is just right to pass through.

It's looking great.
Perhaps it is down to the angle of the photo, but do you think the left arm could hang a little further back?

Damn your keen eyes man, yes it could benefit from hanging a little further back, I think thinning the front edge and building up the back should fix that. Also need to thin out the lumpy elbow joint.

This is yesterday's progress, I wasn't able to get back to the bench to do the piccies.

The left arm is done, I just need to put the cuff decorations on both sleeves and just for the he'll of ot maybe some service stripes. A couple of buttons on the haversack and a tidy up of the blanket roll and he should be ready for the paint shop.

Paint soon and the hand is attached to the rifle, which will be at an angle.

This is really good.
How's the hip?

Cheers David, nearly there now. Hips a bitch but I managed to bring my consultation with the surgeon forward by 2 weeks which is a good result.
