If the Scots want to go.............good luck to them..........personally I don't give a **** one way or the other.

Life will go on, it will be years before the mess of devolvement will be sorted and who knows what the outcome will be...................there are far bigger problems in the middle east without worrying about a few breakaway Scots who possibly want to have their cake and eat it.

Oh Dear , are we taking the huff Keith :) how dare we ask to control our own destiny , if you don't start to sort things out down your end of the woods you will become the Middle East

Im short of work at the mo and looking forward to building the new Hadrian's wall :D

No Ron, it wasn't meant to be offensive just the way I view the whole scenario. No-one really knows what the outcome would be apart from one hell of a mess when some of the things no-one has even thought of yet hit the fan, let alone the issues of Currency, NATO, Where are they now, Middle East, Ukraine, Sorting out an Ebola vaccine?, a totally inept and ineffective organisation.

If you want to control your own destiny good luck to you, I really don't care..............just can't wait to get the whole thing over. The effect on me will be Zero, I had hoped to visit the Scottish Islands one day but if I need to buy another Passport and change up currency...I won't bother. LOL..................

You don't need a passport to go to the Isle Mann :) but you do need one to go to Belfast

Don't know why anyone is getting their knickers in a knot as there is not a chance of a yes vote ,every self respecting prodie will vote no :D and they are the majority :)

As a Scotsman who intends to vote NO I do find your comments offensive.
All people English,Welsh, Northern Irish and Scots should give a #### after all we are talking about a potential breakup of the Union.
Just to clarify this is not devolution,we already have that, this is Independence which is taken not given.
As to changing up currency to visit Scotland that would make a change from us being looked at as if we're trying to pay with Monopoly money when we present a Scottish note in England....yes it still happens.
If, and I sincerely hope not, Scotland does vote for independence, it will be interesting to see whether this accelerates the potential for a Tory / UKIP alliance and England, Wales and NI leaving the European Union.
I just hope that unlike you most English people DO give a ####

I'm almost positive that particular scot was Canadian...and a D-day veteran at that.

At the beginning of the Second World War, Doohan joined the Royal Canadian Artillery. He was commissioned a lieutenant in the 13th Field Artillery Regiment of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division. Doohan went to England in 1940 for training. His first combat was the invasion of Normandy at Juno Beach on D-Day. Shooting two snipers, Doohan led his men to higher ground through a field of anti-tank mines, where they took defensive positions for the night. Crossing between command posts at 11:30 that night, Doohan was hit by six rounds fired from a Bren gun by a nervous Canadian sentry:four in his leg, one in the chest, and one through his right middle finger. The bullet to his chest was stopped by a silver cigarette case given to him by his brother. His right middle finger had to be amputated, something he would conceal during his career as an actor.

No one has yet explained to me why I should care (Give a **** however you want to phrase it!) if Scotland go their own way?............probably no-one is able because no-one really knows what the outcome will be apart from an unholy mess which will no doubt be at the expense of tax payers both sides of the border.

I see there is another sparring match tonight.....perhaps someone will reveal why I should be concerned but I doubt it............I'll just be glad when Euro comes round, I can say hello to my Scottish Friends and the decision will have been made one way or the other.

I can't imagine that a vote one way or the other will make any difference to relationships among the Scots or English, some love us and some hate us and that is true of relationships between peoples all over the world.

Actually although a lot of places take Scottish banknotes, indeed I was given one down in Kent in a pub recently, it is not legal tender in England. My second point is that we are the UK, and so this so called referendum should have been extended to the whole of the UK because the break up concerns us all, especially our nuclear security, so why should 5 million ?? Scots be able to mess with that, all on the whim of a Primma Donna like Salmond.

An analogy is that the decision is like a woman deciding on whether or not to have an abortion because it's her body. The outcome affects the dad too but he doesn't get a say, except through some pre-decision lobbying. Probably as it should be, and lots of precedent for it.
